Like a Tree
Like a tree, a strong tree
Reaching down, down, down
Solid on the Earth
Connected to the ground
Let the wild wind blow
Let the storms rage through
I will bend and flow, rooted to the truth
Yeah, yeah, oh yeah
Yeah, yeah, oh yeah
Roots going down immersing with the Earth
Energy rise I Am rebirthed
Life Force flow, fill me up
Here and now I sing, oh
Chorus
Trunk so solidly flexible
Etched by life so beautiful
In a balance between Heaven and Earth
Here and now I sing, oh
Chorus
Branches reaching toward the sun
Gentle kisses from the one
Power of Earth feeding fingers and toes
Here and now I sing, oh

I Do What Gives Me Life
I do what gives me life
I do what gives me life
I do what gives me life, hey ee yay
I do what gives me life
I do what gives me life
I do what gives me life, hey ee yay
In these moments I am given
In situations called to me
I now choose the path of living
I now choose what sets me free

I Am a Hero
In this life shall come moments
of challenge
When the shapes and the forms tumble down
When the ego will writhe with resistance
As the darkness does dance all around
When the child will reach out for assistance
From a God who seems so far away
Though everything's blurred
A connection is heard
A spark is ignited, a memory stirs
From out of the ethers in silence
From within the heart's ceaseless void
A rider comes over the mountains
Emblazened in power and joy
Then the fog opens up like the Red Sea
A sweet song sweeps over the land
With rider and horse fast approaching
I remember like a hero I can
Oh set me upon raging rivers
Hang me out over the ledge
Turn out those lights if you must but I tell you
This warrior shall dance on the edge
Nothing shall keep me from center
Fear shall be my greatest friend
I'll rise from the ashes of the choices I've laid
To protect the King till the end
For I am a hero, again and again
So I call upon all of you heroes
Whose spirit and deeds fill our lives
Inanna, Amelia, and Rachel
Ulysses and Martin and John
Jaimie and Mikey and Peter
Alea and Nancy and Anne
You and me Ghandi and Biko
Come gather and join as we stand

Love the One You're With
Standing in the line I turn I catch the person's eye
I can turn away or I can give a smile
It's my chance to make a difference
To brighten up the day
I praise the God within and send
A precious Love bouquet
A man is seeking money
He is living on the street
I see his sign and judge
Thinking he'll drink instead of eat
I start to turn the corner when I turn to see his face
I se the God within him, I place 20 on his plate
Throughout the day they come
Moments meant for me
Throughout the day life lays them at my feet
She says, "Have compassion"
She says, "Take the risk"
She says, "Go on and love the one you're with"
A spider in the bathtub
A fly upon the wall
A traffic jam, the couple, fighting
Somewhere down the hall
The man who cut before me
The waitress late and rude
Within these golden moments
Lies a fundamental truth
To get the love I want
I must give the love I seek
As I do for you, my friend
Someone will do for me
These laws of love are written
They're embedded in the heart
So what stands right here before me
Is the perfect place to start
So, Lord, give me situations
To practice loving sweet
To ease the pain of living in everyone I meet
And let me grow in bunches
From the inside to the out
And let me know that love is all
I'll ever be about
Throughout the day they come
Moments meant for me
Throughout the day life lays them at my feet
She says, "Have compassion"
She says, "Take the risk"
She says, "Go on and love the one you're with"
Go on and love the one you're with...

If the Truth Be Told
If the truth be told, I would live another way
If the truth be told, I would change it all today
What holds me back
A little fear
What holds me back
Some voices ringing in my ear
What holds me back
Trepidations, worn beliefs
Have got me by the collar
Pulled me to my knees
I was not meant to be a stranger
Not meant
to be down
I was born to soar the heavens
And turn the world around
When I was a little boy I looked life in the face
I just won't rest till I stand in that place again
If the truth be told, I'd be travelin'
the earth
And if the truth be told,
You couldn't count what I was worth
What holds me back
A little fear
What holds me back
Some voices ringing in my ear
What holds me back
Trepidations, worn beliefs
Have got me by the collar
Pulled me to my knees
I was not meant to be a lemming,
Not
meant to be a rat
I was born to be the glory and I want it like that
When I was a little boy I looked life in the face
I just won't rest till I stand in that place again
If the truth be told, what do you really
want to do?
If the truth be told, what has been singing in you?
What holds you back
A little fear
What holds you back
Some voices ringing in your ear
What holds you back
Trepidations, worn beliefs
Have got you by the collar
Pulled you to your knees
So let the truth be told....

The Face of God
First light of the morning
The call of the whippoorwill
Man's latest creation
The roar of the sea
The eye of a hurricane
A smile under the moonlight
The touch of your tenderness
The pain living in me
I have searched the far and wide
What I've seen I can't deny
Diversity, I honor and applaud
Oh, in everything, I see the face of God
Little child in motion
A chapel upon the hillside
The chant of a holy one
An eagle in flight
A desert where nothing grows
A lotus upon the water
The words of a poet singing
The love in those eyes
I have searched the far and wide
What I've seen I can't deny
Diversity, I honor and applaud
Oh, in everything, I see the face of God
There are times when life's not
rolling
Nothin's moving, nothin's flowing
God is on vacation
Couldn't see her if I tried
I don't see holiness in anything
The thoughts I think songs I sing
I'm frightened by my moments
Spinnin' all around, round, round, round
Round, round, round
Confusion and chaos
All the memories that I believe
A shot in the deep dark night
The passion of love
Tears running down your cheek
A dance under the moonlight
The kiss of a generation
A push and a shove
I have searched the far and wide
What I've seen I can't deny
Diversity, I honor and applaud
Oh, in everything, I see the face of God

Holy
Look 'round at all us people
Each one is so divine
Can you accept that's what you are?
A holy individual
Unique in every way
Will you accept that's what you are?
Nobody feels it quite like you
Nobody says it quite like you
Nobody lives it quite like you
Christ Essence pure in form
Each blessed and each adored
Can you believe that's what you are?
No limits, no dependency
Nothing to overcome
Will you just be what you are?
Nobody feels it quite like you
Nobody says it quite like you
Nobody lives it quite like you
Behold it in everyone
Each daughter and every son
Each being a holy one
Divine, Divine, Divine, Divine
Can you say yes to destiny?
Can you just flow along?
Can you embrace your love and power?
Can you accept equality?
Can you see God in me?
Can you be all of what you are?
Nobody feels it quite like you
Nobody says it quite like you
Nobody lives it quite like you
Holy
Everybody is holy
Everybody be holy
So Divine...

When the Balance is True
There will come a day
And it won't be long
I will stand right up
I
will be so strong
I will dwell in the Light
I'll be open wide
Every cell in me
Will be unified
I will raise my hands
I will lift my eyes
I will shout to the world
I Am Alive
I will dwell in the Now
I will flow like the wind
I'll be solid on the Earth
Like I never have been
I will build a life of beauty
Fill it up with Love
Manifest all I desire
Whatever I dream of
I will have all that I need to be
The everything I Am
The love of God will pour through me
Pouring through my hands
When the balance is true
When the balance is true
